welcome to my personal profile page. well where do i start? my name is james burke and if
you have read my cv you will already know most there is to know about me! as cv's only scratch the surface
i will explain more about my self.
i have many hobbies and interests, i enjoy website development as you may have guessed after viewing my
portfolio. i have created many web project
for various causes, such as college, university and work.
i am currently studying computer science at bristol university in my second year. this website originated
as a project for my new media lecture. apart from computing i love movies be it going to the cinema or having a
quite night in with my girlfriend. i enjoy many genre of films, but my favourite are action, comedy and horror.
now for the slightly depressing part ... 5 years ago i was training for a semi-pro football squad where i
received an injury to my legs, after an unsuccessful operation i contracted reflex sympathetic dystrophy, which is a
disease of the nervous system. it means i am in constant chronic pain, and am unable to walk for long. it has stopped all of my favourite active hobbies, such as football, fencing and
boxing. but i am still able to fly which is a great past time, i am able to solo fly gliders and train others. i enjoy pool,
which some say being in a wheelchair helps. but personally i believe it was simply my miss spent youth!
although i am confined to a wheelchair 80% of the time, it does not prevent or restrain any part of my life, is still
enjoy going out clubbing and drinking with friends i love socialising and i am a very outgoing and friendly person. i
love going on holiday and i try and get at least 4 holidays a year. in the last year i went to spain, canada, new-york
and greece. for next year my plans are for malta, a cruise in the medeterainain and a week in disney land florida.
by now you would have gathered that i am a very active person aside from my mobility difficulties. i also enjoy reading, my
favourite authors being chris ryan and andy mcnab who specialise in sas special forces action books.
in the work place i am a very dominant person, i am very enthusiastic, and am a slight perfectionist. i work well as part of a
team but also work well alone. if i have an aim or a project, i work constantly to ensure i meet a deadline with the most
professional and high quality work.
